  最近成功地把追根溯源学汉字的方法扩展到了法国学生中,他们很喜欢,认真的程度和理解的能力都让我惊喜不已。

  “在”是中文中的高频字,但法国学生普遍对它的评价是“太不友好”:不好读、不好记、不好用。于是我画画帮助他们理解这个字的字源意义:一块土块前,立着一块牌子作为位置标记。

  孩子们兴奋不已,有的说,这是一座教堂,前面正好是十字架,有的说,这是一座坟墓,埋葬的是一位天主教徒,所以有十字架。好吧,你们说的都有理,虽然中国古人造字时完全没有十字架的概念,但不管白猫黑猫,抓得住老鼠的就是好猫,能帮助理解和记忆的方法就是好方法。

  孩子们叽叽喳喳地讨论完这个意向后就开始嫌弃我的画太丑,这正是激发他们自行创造的想象力的好时机。

  于是就有了一位慧智兰心的小姑娘的画作:

  另有一位小男孩一丝不苟地画下了他对这个字的理解:


  他足足画了十分钟,还用上了直尺和铅笔细心勾画,和平时大大咧咧、满不乎的性格非常不同。我认真地问他是否可以拍下照片用作分享,他非常惊讶,但掩饰不住满脸的喜悦,用力地点头。我知道,我成功地点燃了他自信之火。

  还有些其他笔记也很有意思:如"有"字中部件"月"所代表的""的含义。 


 对于非汉语文化里生活的法国孩子, "上" "下"虽然简单,但是特别容易混淆。 我就特别提请他们注意“上”字的一横“下”字的一点。但该怎么记忆呢?我干脆把问题抛给他们,有孩子回答:地上的旗帜随风飘,地下的树根往土里钻。这个答案我很赞赏,于是和大家分享。



  清代学者王筠在《文字蒙求》中这样写到:“人之不识字也,病于不能分,苟能分一字为数字,则点画必不可以增减,且易记而难忘矣。”我深以为然。


  这样,在书写汉字这个任务上,我和孩子们都找到了乐趣。孩子们有时忘字了,我就稍稍提醒他们学习这个汉字时的意象或者图画,他们常常会心一笑,然后自信地写下这个字
