2022 is the Year of the Tiger 虎 according to Chinese lunar calendar. It begins from Feb. 1 of 2022 and ends on Jan. 21, 2023.
Tiger, considered to be brave 勇敢Yǒnggǎn, confident 信心Xìnxīn, strong 力量Lìliàng, is known as the king of all beast ( 动物之王Dòngwù zhī wáng), as well as the symbol of power and lordliness in Chinese culture. In ancient times, people usually compared emperors or kings with the tigers.
Traditionally, Chinese children wear hats (虎头帽) or shoes (虎头鞋) with tiger image for good luck, exorcism, good energy during the Chinese New Year. A number of luxury fashion houses take the occasion with collections inspired by Tiger .
Besides China and most east-Asia countries, many countries such like USA, France, Great Britain, Australia, etc. also issued stamps to celebrate the year of 2022:
