农历正月十五是农历新年的第一个月圆之日， 被称作元宵节 ，是中国人庆祝农历新年的最后一天。
从公元三世纪的汉朝开始，人们的传统庆祝活动就包括在家挂彩灯，出门放花灯、猜灯谜、舞狮子耍龙灯、走庙会、逛夜市、吃元宵.......俗称"闹元宵", 可以说是整个春节庆祝活动的高潮。
传统意义上， 过了这一天， 新一轮的春耕秋收就要开启了。
